#61A 2-Pairs Indian Motorcycle 14 Color Tank Decals These are Water Transfers
These water transfers need to be clear coated.
Tips on Decal Application Instruction
1. Clean the surface that the decal will be applied to. The surface must be free of cleaners, solutions or solvents. If the surface has been freshly painted, allow at least several days for proper curing time.
2. Use a low tack masking tape or similar as a guide to correctly position stripe decal.
3. Lightly mist with a mixture of water and a drop of dish washing liquid, covering the whole area. Too much dish washing liquid in the water will affect adhesion. This mist will enable the decals to slide into position without damaging the decal.
4. Dip decal in lukewarm water until decal slides freely on the paper. DO NOT tug or pull as it may rip the decal.
5. While the decal is still wet position it on the desired surface. When satisfied with its position push out any air pockets while being careful not to move the decal out of place. The decal can now be lightly smoothed down using a card like a business card expelling the water. Always work any water or air pockets to the outside edges of the decals to avoid trapping them.
6. Decals should be allowed 24 hours to dry. If you have pushed out all the air during the previous step, the decal should not have any air bubbles. Should any appear after drying, use a sewing needle to extract air with a very small hole.
7. Allow at least a few days before applying a clear coat over the decals.
8. The clear coat (the first coat) is what is called a dry coat. This is a light coat that is applied to seal the decal, which should be allowed to dry before the final coats are applied. If they are sprayed heavily with clear without doing this, the solvent in the clear coat may attack the decal
